HDFC Bank has rolled out spends based offer on their credit cards wherein they are providing vouchers of Flipkart, BookMyShow, Big Bazaar, Lifestyle or Yatra as per your choice. To get these vouchers, you need to reach the spending threshold as communicated by HDFC Bank in email. The offer is rolled out in two flavors and hence let’s dive into the details to know more.
Offer 1: Spends only
- Offer: Spend Rs. X to get vouchers worth Rs. Y
- Period: 1st March 2020 to 31st March 2020
- Minimum Spends: As communicated in email
- Reward: Vouchers as communicated in email
- Type: Targeted, not valid if communication is not received from HDFC Bank
- Fulfillment: Vouchers will be sent to eligible customers by June 30th 2020

In the first variant of the offer, you need to attain the spending threshold to get vouchers of Flipkart, BookMyShow, Big Bazaar, Lifestyle or Yatra as per your choice.
Offer 2: Spends and registration for SmartPay
- Offer: Spend Rs. X and register for SmartPay to get vouchers worth Rs. Y
- Period: 3rd March 2020 to 31st March 2020
- Minimum Spends: As communicated in email
- Rewards:
- Vouchers as communicated in email
- 5% cashback for first registered biller for a year
- Rs. 250 worth BookMyShow voucher on adding two or more new utility bills under SmartPay
- Type: Targeted, not valid if communication is not received from HDFC Bank
- Fulfillment: Vouchers & cashback will be sent to eligible customers within 90 working days from the offer end date.

In the second variant of the offer, you need to attain the spending threshold as well as register for SmartPay to get vouchers of Flipkart, BookMyShow, Big Bazaar, Lifestyle or Yatra as per your choice. Additional 5% cashback and Rs. 250 BookMyShow vouchers are standard offerings of new SmartPay registration.
Bottomline
I received Offer 2 on my Diners Club Black Credit Card wherein I have to spend Rs. 52,000 to get a voucher of Rs. 2,500. This translates to an additional reward rate of 4.8% which is decent. With default reward rate of 3.3% of Diners Club Black, the overall reward rate shoots to 8.1% which is quite amazing.
