When we all thought that SmartBuy 10X Rewards program can’t get any better, HDFC Bank has trumped us by making it even more rewarding. With the new December 2019 update to HDFC Bank SmartBuy 10X Rewards program, it has not only extended the program till end of this year but has also introduced extra benefit of 10% in form of SmartBuy e-Vouchers. Starting 1 December 2019, each transaction of Rs. 3,000 or more on Smartbuy portal will make card holders eligible for 10% worth of SmartBuy e-Voucher which can be used on same portal for Flights, Hotels and Bus bookings. Without further ado, let’s delve in to the nitty-gritty of December 2019 update.
SmartBuy e-Voucher Offer
- Offer: SmartBuy e-Voucher worth 10% of the transaction value on SmartBuy
- Maximum Cap: Rs. 1,500 per transaction
- Minimum Transaction: Rs. 3,000
- Period: 1 December 2019 – 31 December 2019
- Fulfillment: Vouchers will be sent to customer’s mobile number with in 30 working days from the end of offer period
- Exclusion: Applicable only of card transactions and not on Reward Points redemption

- Maximum Capping Reset: Every calendar month

Bottomline
The new SmartBuy e-Voucher offer is a fabulous offer from HDFC Bank as it increases the reward rate of HDFC Bank credit cards by flat 10%. Best part is there is, though there is maximum cap on reward point per transaction, there is no maximum cap on rewards and number of transactions. Hence one can make multiple transactions above Rs. 3,000 to get maximum benefit. I am summarizing the approximate rewards for some popular HDFC Bank Credit Cards below:

Needless to say, HDFC Bank has become hyper-aggressive these days and upping the game in Credit Card market steadily. The launch of new benefits on HDFC Diners Club Black credit card, 10X rewards on gift vouchers and Multiple exciting merchant offers: HDFC Bank is not leaving a single chance for it’s competitors.
The 43% reward rate on Infinia and Diners Club Black is insane and I don’t see a reason for not cashing in this opportunity. HDFC Bank is pushing hard to make SmartBuy portal a one stop shop for all online shopping needs. However, I have serious doubts on sustainability of this offer and only time will tell about the longevity of this program. Till then keep reaping the benefits!
